This month's Women's Majlis Series presents a Fireside chat with Iman Ben Chaibah, CEO of Sail Publishing. Join us on Wednesday, 30th September 2020 as we get the opportunity to get to know more about Iman's personal journey, career, passion, challenges that she faced, her inspirations and learn from her knowledge and experiences.
About the speaker
Iman started Sail Magazine 10 years ago to document the social debates and discussions in the community in the form of opinion articles, to foster knowledge growth among the youth and to represent the thought process of Emiratis to the international reader. She then expanded Sail into a publishing house for books to grow the local content on internationally. Iman was recently appointed as the Vice President of the Emiratis Publishers Association Board.
Iman received the UAE’s Young Digital Publisher Entrepreneur Award by The British Council, was chosen as a Delegate to the International Achievement Summit in San Francisco, received the Young Entrepreneur Award from Startup Businesses magazine, and received the Arab Woman Award in Literature. Iman has also completed the Magazine Publishing Course in Yale University. She was a fellow in the Rosalynn Carter Journalism Fellowship in Mental Health to spread the knowledge about the issues in this domain through her magazine’s platform.
About Women's Majlis
A series launched in March 2019, in line with the celebration of International Women’s Day. Its is a monthly gathering that aims to bring together inspirational speakers and diverse audience to share individual insights, connect through their stories, inspire and create an impact through a series of one-to-one interviews, talks, panel discussions and more. This platform is also created to celebrate women around the world and is open to everyone (men and women) who support gender diversity.
